Here fishy fishy fishy!

Basically pescetarian is the opposite of Ron Swanson.  No meat EXCEPT fish...also lots of fruits, veggies beans, nuts and whole grains, some eggs and dairy and very little (ideally none) meat, alcohol, sugar and processed food.  There couldn't possibly be a healthier way to eat in my opinion.

With my 20 year high school reunion looming (and high cholesterol and triglycerides), now is the time for me to get serious!

If I can't have my oatmeal in a cookie...

Also, I would rather eat my big toe than oatmeal most mornings but for some reason I love it for supper.  Whatever works!

A Good HEARTy Breakfast

So am learning to really listen to my body and today I need a real meaty, filling breakfast.  Luckily I am stocked up on good omega 3 eggs, sweet potatoes and I made some homemade super lean turkey breakfast sausage the other day (stir in poultry seasoning, fennel, garlic, salt and red and black pepper).  One egg a week can't kill me, especially when is is a yummy, orange yolked. high quality egg!

Salmon and Cucumber Salad

So I recently found out I have high cholesterol...and high bad cholesterol...and about triple the triglycerides I should have so I am completely adjusting my life.  I ate healthy most of the time but when I cheated I cheated BAD (and lately too often).  I am also, gasp, giving up alcohol.  Totally for now and maybe later I will reincorporate it with some strict rules.  I love me a glass, err BOTTLE of wine and apparently so do triglycerides!  Anyway I am on day two of my healthy eating.  Kinda vegan, kinda paleo, all whole food.  I tried being a vegan before and couldn't do it so I will still eat high quality fish, wild salmon and sardines mostly.  This dish was an experiment that turned out surprisingly awesome!

Zucchini pasta may be my new favorite thing!


Sautéed cherry tomatoes and baby kale and spinach over zucchini linguine.  I Love my Spiralizer and my Vegetti.  I probably prefer the vegetti since it is small and easier to clean.
